Review of "A Doll's House" (As if written at the time)

By: Eirik Borgos (a.k.a. Carlos Zozaya) 1800 and something…

I am completely outraged! This play is preposterous! It talks about women’s rights and independence! HAHAHA! I’m sorry but this is a disgusting thought for our entire society. How can someone even think of such a possibility?! Women being independent? Women caring for their husbands? I laugh at the thought! Everyone knows the little squirrels are supposed to look cute, clean the house, look after babies and love their husbands.

So what’s all this talk in A Doll’s House about independence? It is disgusting!

But don’t get me wrong now, there are some good aspects of the play. For example Jonas Ipsen’s magnificent portrayal of the great, talented Torvald Helmer. He portrays this magnificent character with such passion and accuracy that you feel like a real man watching him. Helmer knows where women belong and is constantly reminding his little featherbrain of her place, as should we all!

The bottom line is: I wouldn’t recommend this play to anyone who is in a sound state of mind. Men, you will be outraged by the principles this play gives out, Women…keep dreaming.
